Ninna Bohn Pedersen

Ninna Bohn Pedersen works with moving images and plays with ideas of storytelling often using the body as a stage, canvas and subject.

Ninna Bohn Pedersen creates video and film installations as well as single screen works across a variety of formats and technology. Her works explore the spatial relationships between moving image, sound, text, sculpture and found objects. Working around the notion of collage and loose connections the works invite the viewer to fill in the blanks. The focus being on an immersive experience rather than linear structure and drive. She questions the production of images and the construction of narratives. Often using herself and immediate surroundings as a subject, canvas and stage, her works are haptic representations of the real. Taking their starting point in a personal grasp of the world that is punctuated or obstructed by formal experimentation. Creating a language for both the intimate and the universal.

She graduated from the Slade School of fine art in London, UK with an MA in 2012 having won the Adrian Carruthers studio award for excellence. She lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark. She is a member of the artist group (play)ground-less.
