Maud Craigie

Maud Craigie’s work is embedded in research into existing social structures and seeks to access heightened or staged notions of authentic experience.

Maud Craigie’s investigations have included hiring a professional mother in Beijing, China; spending a year training in the Meisner Technique, a form of acting defined as, ‘living truthfully in a given set of circumstances’; and training in psychological police interrogation techniques in Texas, USA.

She completed an MA in Fine Art Media at the Slade School of Fine Art in 2016. Selected screenings and exhibitions include an upcoming solo exhibition at The Gallery, Plymouth College of Art (2020); PIXELACHE Festival, Helsinki (2019); BF Artist Film Festival VIII, Serf, Leeds (2019); All the World’s a Display, Veinti4SieteGaleria, Costa Rica (2017); and Folly, David Dale Gallery, Glasgow (2017). Awards include South West Showcase 2020; The Boise Travel Scholarship (2016); The Red Mansion Art Prize (2015); The UCL Commission for the Freud Museum (2014); and an Ellen Battell Stoeckel Fellowship, Yale University (2012).
