Kaamos by Katie Goodwin

Kaamos by Katie Goodwin

‘Kaamos’ is a film journal from the view of the artist tourist, a cosseted city dweller, in search of true darkness. The at times darkly humorous Finnish monologue discusses cultural difference, loneliness, addiction, lack of sunlight, fear of and finding solace in nature. The film was funded by the ACE/British Council AIDF and Australian Council for the Arts and was made whilst artist in residence at HIAP on UNESCO World Heritage site Soumenlinna Island. ‘Kaamos’ was first presented in a solo show at Temporary Art Projects in Southend-on-Sea in 2015.
