I make single take videos on a mobile phone camera and create live-performances, often with thermochromic fabric and light.
Using a mobile phone camera began as an accessible entry to video, over time it has become a way of interacting, working and thinking about and my visual surroundings and video as a means of capture. I also create live performance works, some of these are influenced by my background in textiles, where I combine thermochromic screen-printed fabric and light.
Part of my practice involves creating platforms for film, video and live performance through several curating collaborations, most significantly as co-founder of an all-female collective: collective-iz. Our activities have been included in publications such as Senses of Cinema, Millennium Film Journal, and Sequence Magazine. Recent screenings and exhibitions include: In House, Café OTO, London (2020); Work Programme, LUX, London, UK, (2019); Light & Dark (Park), LUX, London, UK (2018); Extending the Frame, Whitstable Biennale, Kent, UK (2018).
